Modern Fabrics Company has been recognized and awarded an Honorable Mention for the Charlotte Business Journal Green Awards 2008 for the Green Entrepreneurial Effort/ Innovative Idea of the Year Category. Thank you for supporting us and making it possible to receive this honorable recognition.
The Charlotte Business Journal honored more than 60 businesses, individuals and nonprofits for their environmentally sustainable practices and programs Wednesday, April 16 at the inaugural Green Awards event at the Charlotte Convention Center.
Working with the U.S. Green Building Council Charlotte Region Chapter, the event identified companies, nonprofits and individuals in 19 categories that have made sustainability a priority.
Scott Horst, chairman of the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED steering committee, was the keynote speaker at the event, which drew more than 900 attendees.
The Charlotte Business Journal’s inaugural Green Book was distributed at the awards presentation.
The 72-page publication — printed on recycled paper with soy-based ink — includes details on this year’s winners and doubles as a resource guide on how local companies are incorporating green practices.
