Ultrafabrics
We aren’t a vinyl and are in fact a polyurethane – we are always confused with vinyl - but something worth clarifying. The main difference between the two is the ingredients and process in which it is made.
Polyurethane is a resin-based product that doesn’t contain plasticizers, PVC, and other chemicals found within vinyl which can off-gas or cause performance failures. Plus, Ultrafabrics is the premier supplier of polyurethane, so as you kindly point out our materials have a special look and feel.
Another thing to note is that Ultrafabrics is the overall brand name and how we ultimately what our product referred to because we are beyond traditional polyurethanes. Ultraleather, Brisa, and Ultratech are brand families within our portfolio.
Crafted in Ultrafabrics’ Japanese mill using the proprietary production process, Takumi™ Technology, Ultrafabrics is passionate about creating unrivaled sensorial experiences. Ultrafabrics’ investment in innovation, research, and development has resulted in a range of polyurethanes suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. With an extensive client list of luxury brands spanning many industries, from residential and contract furniture, to upholstery for cars, yachts, airlines, and private jets.
In the Ultrafabrics universe, the spirit of pioneering rules. With five decades of craftsmanship behind us, we continue to reshape the world of animal-free performance fabrics - one surface at a time.
